Description

Standing along the main road in Delap-Uliga-Djarrit, the Cathedral of the Assumption is one of the most characterful stops you can make on a Sunday morning. Built in 1898, it draws visitors in with its striking geometric inlaid tile floors and a genuinely warm congregation. Attending a service here is a lovely cultural experience, with communal singing and the tradition of shaking hands at the close. Entry is free, and the visit pairs beautifully with a wander past the street art at the adjacent school.
