Tucked along Lagoon Road on the way to Laura, the Japanese Peace Park is a quietly moving stop with real historical significance. Built by the Japanese government in 1984, the memorial honours all those who lost their lives across the islands and seas of the East Pacific during World War Two. Shaded by some of the last large preserved trees in the area, it offers a rare moment of calm and reflection, alongside a solemn inscription dedicated to world peace.
