Description
LiModrel's Well is one of Majuro's most quietly compelling stops. This roadside site marks the spot where, after a devastating 1905 typhoon stripped the atoll of its coconut trees and freshwater wells, a remarkable discovery was made: two birds drinking from a small hole led LiModrel's husband, Makpi, to a freshwater source that never ran dry. The interpretation sign tells the full story of LiModrel, the land of Ņamwijel Wāto, and the community that came together to rebuild. Free to visit and just off the road.
